Why does the song writer feel the need to tell Knuckles story through the music, when this is not the forefront storytelling mode of sonic games? The strangest thing about this is not the synth keyboard and the saxophone, but how Knuckles sings about having a crush on Rouge. What most sonic soundtracks will do is just have fast paced electronic music fitting in with the style/genre of the level. It’s as if this was produced solely for the pay check – huh. Stuff we already know because we’ve played the first game and are playing this game. He tells us how he is an Echidonia, he’s running around the level Wild Canyon, and looking for the master emerald. Firstly I’m amazed that lyrics were written for all these songs, but I’m mostly astounded by how bad they are.Īs far as I can tell all the songs are sung from the perspective of Knuckles which is immediately unsettling, but what is more the first song ‘ Kick the Rock!‘ Opens with a really strange description of himself. Many of the sonic songs I’ve listened to have been strange, but Hunnid-P’s songs for Knuckles take the biscuit.
